New Year's Eve Surprise

On New Year's Eve we had a very special visitor.
Santa's busy season had come to an end and he stopped by to meet Liam!!
He even brought more gifts!
As you can see, Santa and Liam were very cute and comfortable together.
What an exciting end to 2010 and Liam's first Christmas!

See you next year, Santa Claus!

Baby's First Christmas

Sleepy boy on Christmas morning
Not for long! I think this is his "What's going on?" face.
Maybe Liam knows who stopped by over night??
S-A-N-T-A!!!!
Our 1st Christmas as a family cozy in our pj's.
Liam loves Christmas songs.
Ready to go to Mimi & Papa's!
Snuggles with Mommy...
and with Papa.
We sat down to a delicious Christmas dinner with Liam in his "manger."
Then it was time for more Christmas pictures.

We cannot give our little guy enough kisses.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!!

Christmas at Granny & Pappy's

I have to mention "Liam's tree." Granny put it up for us during her visit and Liam has been hooked ever since. Needless to say, we may be leaving the tree up a bit longer this year.

We got to Granny & Pappy's Friday evening to celebrate Christmas with them over a long weekend (Friday-Monday). Liam got to meet more family! Aunt Nicki, Jeff, and his cousins Mason & Madison were very excited to finally meet him. We had dinner and then some bonding time and presents...

We took our traditional pajama picture with a special Santa Claus added in.

We spent the rest of the visit relaxing...

cuddling...

and hanging out.

What a great start to the holidays!

Liam's 1st Bath

This was Liam's first official bath. Up until this point he only had towel baths while we waited for the umbilical cord to fall off. His bath tub is very special and came highly recommended by cousin Emily. It's a clean water tub so water is constantly flowing out of the tub while clean water is coming in.
As with most things, Liam was perfectly willing to give this new thing a try.

I think this look means "Are you sure about this?"
Liam stayed happy through the entire bath until we moved him around to wash is back. He did not like this. He does however seem to like water being poured over his head.

Since this first go we have found it much easier to set up bath time at the kitchen sink.
Clean, happy baby.

Immediate outcome after being dried off while being dressed.

Granny's Visit

It has been a week with the 3 of us at home and it was time for Granny to come for her visit. It was also time for another big event... Texan & Lexy were coming home to meet Liam.

Daddy brought Liam out in the stroller so that the dogs could get inside, and settled, first.
It was his first time in the stroller and he seemed to like it.

I met Granny, Tex, & Lex outside. When we came in I offered them a blanket, that Liam had been using, to sniff.
Daddy brought Liam back inside and we began introductions. Lexy was very interested. She would lick him all over... if we let her.
Texan, on the other hand, will take his time. "Someone else to take attention away from me?" It really could not have gone better and I'm very sure that the 3 of them will be the best of friends. I tell Liam all the time, "You have 2 puppies."
What a big day so far. Time to kick back and relax.
The next day Liam and Granny spent some more quality time together.

We gave him a wash and he cuddled up with his Granny once again.
The following day Daddy went back to work. Luckily he got to have a Liam fix in the middle of his work day for Liam's first check up with Dr. Jaime.
Granny drove us to pick Daddy up on the way to the doctor (I am under strict instruction not to drive for 2 weeks).
They only do well patient check ups for the first hour after lunch so we were a happy family in the waiting room. (The waiting room is too cool by the way. Liam is going to love it when he gets older. There are all kinds of things to play with.)
Granny took such great care of us during her visit. She did the grocery shopping, cooked for us, walked the dogs, and was there to help with absolutely everything. My favorite part was just having her here.
Time for Mommy's first post partum check up.
Liam and Dr. Cindy.
Just before this picture was taken a nurse, whom I had not met before, said to me "You're brave. I heard about you. 10 lbs!" Granny and I smiled and laughed a bit.
We enjoyed spending time together the rest of Granny's visit.

Granny also put up all of our Christmas decorations. The Christmas tree is now known as "Liam's Tree" and he just LOVES to look at it.
Granny introduced Liam to many Christmas carols.
Granny, thank you for helping us get more rest...

...and for making us so happy. We love you!
