Aunt Angie's Baby Shower

Saturday morning Liam and I drove to Mimi & Papa's to get Mimi and head to San Antonio for Aunt Angie's baby shower.
Liam was ready to go.
He even wore a Pooh bib for cousin Leni (Leni's nursery is Pooh).
We watched Aunt Angie open presents. She got so many great gifts for cousin Leni!
Including... Uncle Adam's diaper bag full of clothes from when he was little...
... and the clean water tub from cousin Emily (the one she also recommended for Liam).
Liam slept through most of the festivities.
Aunt Angie was very excited to get a "manger" for Leni from us.
Liam finally got to meet Mrs. Connie, Aunt Angie's mom.
We were so happy to see Uncle Adam at the beginning of the shower. Now he was back to help clean up and take pictures with Aunt Angie and cousin Leni.
Liam & I had to have a picture with all of those balloons.
It was time to head back. Liam ate and then was out like a light. I talked to Ryan on the phone and he told us that he and Papa would make us dinner at Mimi & Papa's. Sounded like a great idea after all of that car time!
Liam was very happy to be there.
What a fun day we had!

We can't wait to meet you, Leni!

2 Month Check Up

On Tuesday we had an appointment with Dr. Jaime to get our 2 month old all checked out.
Liam was weighed and measured. Weight 16.7 lbs (with his clothes on- weird, we know) Height = 24 1/2 inches, & head = 42 3/4 cm.
After we were lead to wait in the exam room a nurse came in with Liam's chart and told us he is in the 95th percentile for his height and head measurements and "off the charts" for his weight. : )
For those who aren't familiar, percentiles are based on other babies Liam's age.
After the nurse left we sat back to wait for Dr. Jaime.
Liam needed to stretch his legs so Daddy helped him.
He was all smiles...
... until Mommy holding him made him realize that he was hungry.
Daddy gave him his bottle. (We don't travel anywhere without a pumped bottle ready to go. Liam's schedule is his own and when he's hungry, he's hungry.) He almost finished before Dr. Jaime came in. Liam was talking up a storm and giving him his sweet smiles. Dr. Jaime said Liam looked great and gave us some information about the vaccinations he was about to get. We said goodbye to him and waited for the nurse. It wasn't long before she was in the room. We made the decision before hand, after some reading, that I would hold Liam during. He received one oral vaccine and 2 shots, one in each leg. Poor baby! All I could think was how scary it must have been for him. It was over very quickly and the nurse showed us to a room so that I could nurse him. I was grateful that I could do something to help him feel better. He latched on and stayed there for a little over 10 minutes, until he fell asleep.
He slept the whole way home. (This includes dropping Daddy back at his office and stopping in to get some infant acetaminophen, just in case.)

Once we were home, and ready for another good nap, Liam was his smiling, happy self. He did have a little trouble falling asleep later that evening but it wasn't anything that the glider and Mommy's singing couldn't fix.

Congratulations Daddy!

Daddy,
I love you very much and I really look up to you.
I liked visiting you at work.
Now I know where you are when you're not home with me and Mommy.
I heard some good news...

... that you got a promotion! Congratulations, Daddy!!

Photo Session

These pictures were actually taken on 12/2/2010. I know some of you are remembering to look under blog archive but, just in case you're not, I'm posting this on today's date so that it's not missed. These pictures were posed by Mimi, with Granny on backdrop duty. Ryan and I were either holding Liam or trying to direct his attention toward the cameras. Anyway, here are some very precious pictures of our very precious baby.

Our Little One "Said" Roll Over, Roll Over

Almost!! Liam had just woken up from a nap at Granny & Pappy's. Aunt Sammie & I were talking to him and he was, happily, talking back. We were about to change him when he started turning to his right side, smile and all.

He made it onto his side and stopped there. I got so excited! He was looking at me like "Did I do something?"

Liam's Great Grandparents

The weekend that we spent at Granny & Pappy's to celebrate Christmas was also the weekend that Liam met his Great Grandma Rose. It was also Ryan's first time to meet her. She has been telling me for quite some time that she was afraid that if he met her he might leave me for the original.
She agreed with everyone else, that her great grandson is very beautiful.
Great Grandma will always remind Liam of how much she loves him and she will always make him laugh...
...especially if she wears my sunglasses again.
On New Years Day, Liam got to meet his Great Grandpa & Great Granny!
They shared some sweet,loving, conversation...
...and introduced Liam to his first singing and dancing snowman.
Liam will love visiting Great Granny & Great Grandpa's just like I always have.

See you soon, Great Grandparents!
