Liam Jackson
~Time to catch up! I have pictures of EVERYTHING just itching to get on here. I'll be posting new and old posts all at the same time...the dates and noticeable changes in Liam will help you out. The side picture is from Liam's Jungle Birthday Bash for his 2nd birthday. Our lion cub is healthy, strong, happy, and smart! ~

Getting Into the Swing of Things

YaYa and Emily have been here since the beginning of November so that they would be here for Liam's birth. Luckily, even though he came almost 2 weeks past his due date, they were still here with Uncle Paul for a bit longer.
Emily had been so curious about baby Liam since she first saw him and could not wait to hold him. She did a great job and was so sweet with him.
Here is Emily in her Christmas sleep sack (made by Mimi) and, yes, Liam in a stocking. I ask you, "Is there a cuter Christmas picture??"
We love our sweet little stocking stuffer.
Special time with Papa
YaYa made Liam a hat! At first it did not fit but, no worries, YaYa made it a bit bigger. It seems that Liam is following in Mommy & Daddy's footsteps...you need a bigger head for a bigger brain.
Time for Liam's first photo session on his Boppy.
So many facial expressions and only 1 week old.
Sweet, sweet smiley boy.
We spent the next day relaxing...

Then we had visitors! YaYa, Uncle Paul, and Emily came by.

I'd say we're starting to get into the swing of things...

Homeward Bound

It was our final night in the hospital and, since I'd been instructed to start moving around, we decided to roam the halls a bit.

Of course we couldn't resist the opportunity to pose with Liam.
The next day we were getting all ready to go.
Here Liam and I are being pushed by one of our wonderful nurses, Michelle. (She did such a great/painless job of taking out my staples - which I was unaware of until I was told they needed to be taken out - that I gave her one of the flowers from the arrangement that was sent to us.)
Mommy & Liam are ready to go HOME! You may think I'm being a tad lazy by wearing slippers but let me tell you, they were the only things that fit after over 60 hours on a saline drip.
Here's the beautiful arrangement I mentioned. It can have my seat... I get to sit with Liam.
Ready to go home on his first car ride. He only cried until we started moving...
There's our content baby!
We're home!
This was waiting when we got upstairs! What a wonderful, and thoughtful, surprise from Mimi, Papa, YaYa, Uncle Paul, cousin Emily, Uncle Adam, & Aunt Angie.
Also, a fully stocked refrigerator and pantry!?! We were THRILLED...
...and happy to be home.
Liam's first nap at home. I had started to worry that he thought we lived at the hospital where our sleep was constantly interrupted and we had to keep getting shots.
We relaxed at home the rest of the day and night...
...and enjoyed our precious baby boy being there with us.

A Very Thankful Thanksgiving

Liam's first Thanksgiving. Luckily, we had both sets of grandparents to bring us some more things to the hospital. We really thought we'd only be there for a couple days...ha!

I realize these are all only slightly different... I just can't help myself!
Mimi & Papa brought Mommy & Daddy Thanksgiving dinner. We were very grateful.

Our first Thanksgiving together and our first pictures with the 3 of us. What a wonderful reason to spend Thanksgiving in the hospital.

Hanging at the Hospital

We definitely had time to make ourselves comfortable at the hospital.
As for sleep... forget it. This was my first stay in a hospital and I had no idea how little rest you actually get. We did have wonderful nurses the entire time and I was a HUGE fan of the room service.
There was plenty of time for bonding...
... and snuggling.
This was not posed. We found it adorably hilarious that Liam was doing the "one-million dollars" pose all on his own on his birth day.
Liam's first bath was even in the hospital.
Daddy did most of the bathing. I helped a little as I was not able to get out of bed yet.
Liam didn't love every part of his first bath...
...but he sure was relaxed afterward.

It's hard to believe that Liam was Bubble just a few days before.
