No Ice Cream, Please

Everyone loves ice cream, right? Especially a toddler who loves milk and crushed ice, right?
Wrong!
On Valentine's Day I had a special treat for Liam, an ice cream cone! He had tried ice cream before.
He wasn't crazy about it, but didn't love it. I thought that introducing the ice cream cone side by side with his play one would give him a good perspective...
He didn't buy it.
I did get him to taste it. He didn't spit it out but, again, wasn't crazy about it. He also wanted me to wipe it off his mouth (not a fan of being messy). Then, for some reason, I think he was trying to figure out a way to let me know that he really didn't want it...
 ...just a thought...
He wasn't thrilled about me sitting it upright...
,,,but he took care of that himself and all is right in the world. Also, Mommy got to have an ice cream cone!
Liam may not be a big fan of ice cream yet but he's as sweet as he can be all on his own!

Valentine's Day 2013

Preparation for Valentine's Day starts a few weeks in advance. This is because Liam has to carefully choose decorations and then create his Valentine's!

I love Valentine's Day so much that I decided that we would be celebrating all week. On the 12th we went to the mall for Liam's first Build-A-Bear experience. I'm pretty sure there was no mistake in placing the merry-go-round (which we ride often) directly across from Build-A-Bear. Liam was pretty distracted by it and it took some convincing to get him interested in the task at hand...picking an animal. After looking at a few he spotted the winner and said "Whoa, that's a moo!!" After making "Moo" with love we, of course, went to ride the merry-go-round.
Liam always loves the merry-go-round and I love seeing him so thrilled by it.
We stopped outside to capture some pictures with Moo. Liam really enjoyed the stuffing machine, kissing the heart, and giving Moo a bath. Picking out clothes, not so much. The name was easy, he chose that right off the bat!
 Chewin' the cud.

The next day was baking day! We made dark chocolate fudge brownies and red velvet cake hearts. (Liam did all of the sprinkles.)
Valentine's Day morning Liam woke up to this. Moo was watching over his Valentine from Mommy and Daddy all night.
Inside was The Lion King and a heart full of...SKITTLES!!

Liam made his Valentine deliveries to Lexy...
 ...and Texan.

Then he noticed something special that Daddy got for Mommy.

After breakfast it was time to go see Daddy at work! We were ready to go with his Valentine and the treats we made for Daddy and his co-workers.
He was very happy to see us. This was also our first visit since Daddy switched offices.
On our way out there was another treat for Liam, a glass elevator! There is one in our mall and we always go in ,whether we need to or not...it's just fun!

This one was extra special because he had it all to himself...with Daddy in it!
After we said goodbye to Daddy at work, we were off to the next exciting thing.... picking up Liam's one dozen heart balloons! We got them last year and there was no way that it wasn't going to become a tradition. (not sure who was more excited!) This year Liam walked out with them himself.
Once we were home it was time to party with the balloons!

Liam gave Tex & Lex the other treats he got them a couple weeks before.
 They were quite pleased.

 We partied our pants off!
Did I mention that we were celebrating all week? Daddy came home from work the next evening and Liam came running in to give me this yummy box of chocolates! Since then he has requested Daddy to get the box down for him so that he can bring it to me. Needless to say, I've been eating a lot of chocolate!
 I'm one lucky Momma!
This was one of Daddy's Valentine's Day surprises... a Liam Valentine Tree!

Over The Railing And To My Books!

Since I keep promising myself that I am going to catch up with Liam's blog, I may as well start with a video of him climbing out of his crib! He was resisting a nap and suddenly I didn't hear him bouncing around and laughing anymore. When I looked at the video monitor and couldn't see him I thought "Maybe he's in a corner..." Then I heard one of his sing and play books! I ran in and found him sitting behind his glider reading. I asked "Liam, did you climb out of your crib?" He replied "Yeah!!" After getting him dressed, I put him back in his crib and asked him to show me...
It was recorded vertical, I know, but not too much of an adjustment. Hey, there are bound to be some glitches after such a lengthy hiatus!

Oh that is too funny, Momma!

I am showing Liam some clothes that we got him, which he seems to think are pretty great!

Park Playtime

A storm has been brewing since we woke up this morning but Liam and I figured we had some time to play at the park before it started to rain. We go to the park as often as we can, weather permitting. Because of the anticipation of the storm we pretty much had the park to ourselves. This is not a common occurrence and Liam was ready to explore without interruption.
This meant no waiting for his very favorite thing... swinging!!
He also didn't have to worry about someone coming down the slide while he was doing what it's obviously intended for, climbing up.
Liam also loves rocks...of all shapes and sizes. He tried to pick this one up before sitting on it.
All of that running and playing (it was also very windy) definitely wore him out because he's been "sleeping like a baby" for the past 2 1/2 hours.
Sweet dreams, sweet boy.

Liam's Chair

Liam LOVES his new chair! As you can see he is settling right in. He now has a place to sit and watch his stories and catch up on local news. "Where has this been all my life, Mommy??"

Daddy's Game

It all started with Liam bringing Daddy 3 balloons. Then he would either climb up him or get him to pick him up and they would hug with the balloons in between them.

That turned into Liam bringing Daddy whatever was laying around in the room...
...and he had to hold on to it all at once!

This is Liam contemplating what he can find to bring Daddy next.

What's next??
